Joseph George Barber, born 1867, at Great Yarmouth, married Hannah Myhill, at St Nicholas, 18th April 1887. (Hannah born about 1870 at Great Yarmouth). In the 1901 census, Joseph G. Barber was shown as the head of the household at no.7, Row 8, occupation – fisherman. Also in the house were Hannah Barber aged 31, Hannah L Barber, aged 12; Matilda Barber, aged 10; Mary A. Barber, aged 6; Hilda Barber aged 3; Bertha Barber, aged 1.
In the 1911 census at no.28, Row 8, were living – Joseph George Barber, then aged 44years, married 24 years, and Hannah Barber, 41; with ten children then living, who were: Matilda Barber, aged 19; Mary Ann Barber, aged 17; Hilda Barber, aged 13; Bertha Barber, aged 11; Olive, aged 10; Augustus aged 6; Isaac aged 4. Matilda and Mary Anne were both fish packers.
Michael Harvey, born 1888 at Great Yarmouth, married, 1.4.1910 at Great Yarmouth, Hannah Louise Barber, born 22nd March 1890 at Great Yarmouth (daughter of Joseph George Barber and Hannah Myhill).
Their children were Hannah, born 1912; Walter, born 1913; William, born 1914, all at Great Yarmouth.
In the 1911 census, at No.6, Row 4, Michael Harvey, aged 23, was a marine engineer, living with Hannah, and no children.
Later, on 1st April 1920, Hannah married John Francis Rice, at Great Yarmouth. Their children were Tessie, Gladys, John, Cyril, and Arthur. John also brought three children to the marriage from his previous partner, who were – Louise, Donna and Arthur.
